Good morning everyone,
I know those of you who visited the challenge this month may just have noticed a new team member... right? Well even though I'm sure you all know Bev Rochester I thought before Bev shares her first solo post we should introduce Bev properly. So without further ado, here's a little bit about our newest DT Member
Hey! I'm Bev from All The Things I Love. I've always been crafty, starting off with crochet, knitting, cross stitch, tapestry, then I dabbled with jewellery making for a while. After that I was doodling one day and discovered I could draw (yeah I was shocked lol) and moved on to painting portraits and animals in acrylics. I got tired of that (as you do) and moved on to decorating eggs in the Faberge style where I got so involved with the UK Guild I ended up being a tutor and judge ... that's one expensive hobby I can tell you! Meeting with a group of ladies once a week lead me in to cardmaking and rubber stamping and well, the rest is history. I've been making cards for about 8 years now, but only seriously got addicted to stamping around 6 years ago. Cardmaking took over my life up until a couple of years ago when ill health made me take a step back and reconsider things. Now I make cards for me, and get great pleasure out of that rather than churning out a card or two a day as well as holding down a full time job. I stood down from all bar two design teams to ease up on things, so to say I was thrilled when Tracy invited me on to the team is an understatement, I was tickled pink!I love anything cute, with loads of embellishments although I am loving the vintage look which some of the Noor girls do so well. I don't think I will ever give up rubber stamping, I get so much pleasure from taking an inked image and bringing it to life with markers or inks. Then I dig out the dies, lace, ribbons and flowers and I'm in seventh heaven :)
So this is first post as a DT member for Noor! Design, and I’m thrilled to bits to be on the team.
I’ve a couple of Dutch Doobadoo MDF projects to share today, a calendar using the fab Ship’s Wheel and just because I have to have me some pink I also decorated a door hanger.
I painted the wheel with gold acrylic paint, then a coat of crackle medium then finished off with white acrylic paint. I added a brass 100 year calendar to the centre (this puppy was MADE for the wheel!)
The embellishments are from the new paper art. These are fab! I embossed these with Old Silver Frantage embossing powder. I love the look this gives, and totally transforms the paper art.
For my next project I went so totally PINK! I used the gorgeous Vintage wood papers
Butterflies, flowers and gesso added to the shabby chick look I wanted for this.
Thanks for stopping by
Good luck, love to see your creations!!!
