Mistletoe Fairy

Another blue Christmas card today, this one using Mistletoe Fairy from the  Whimsy Stamps release.  Although this is a Christmas stamp, I think it could be used all the year round by just changing up the colour of the berries.

Christmas Wreath

I’m going through a blue phase, no pink in sight!  And it’s all down to the Pion Design North Pole papers.

Because the wreath die is large I didn’t want to detract from it with lots of layers, so kept the layout simple and added some embossing for texture and detail

bev-rochester-noor-leabilities-wreath-die

The Scrapiniec bauble chippy is double layered, so I added a smoky blue wax to the bottom layer and gesso to the top layer before adhering together.  This was topped off with a few pearls, a pearl/rhinestone button and some crinkled organza ribbon.

bev-rochester-noor-leabilities-wreath-die3

I die cut the wreath twice from white card and then cut lots of individual leaves from glitter card in silver and smoky blue.  I used the glitter leaves  and pearls for added dimension

I really love how this card turned out, simple and elegant and not too much going on which is a change for me Open-mouthed smile

Penguin with present

Christmas cards are my favourite cards to make, I can go crazy with glitter and embellishments and we all know how much I love those!

bev-rochester-wild-rose-studio-penguin-with-present

The colour scheme is simple, I stuck to the colours in the Pion North Pole papers that I’ve used and just built on that with the embellishments and layers.

I finished off the inside to match the front.

Flowers for you–All Dressed Up

A pink and girly card from me today, and I hit the distress inks for colouring again too.  The Fabriano watercolour paper from Noor Design makes colouring a total breeze.

Love how Lemoncraft co-ordinate their papers with tags, buttons, etc so everything comes together so easily.

Candibean Honey Pot

I had a tinker with the distress inks last week, I really am rusty with them and find grabbing my copic markers so much quicker and easier to colour with.  But, I’m persevering, and gave colouring this adorable little Candibean Honey Pot by LDRS a go.

bev-rochester-candibean-honey-pot

The pen nib started off it’s life a vintage gold but I needed it to be silver to match the pearl string that I had used, so out came the Krylon pen and voila!  One silver nib

Love this pearl string, so pretty

Shabby Chic Dream

After shooting a brief video for the new Crafteezee Monthly Subscription Kit last week I decided to shoot another video as I was making up a card using the kit.  It’s been quite some time since I did a video, so I’m back to being a beginner lol.

bev-rochester-crafteezee-collection-nautical

The only things I added that weren’t in the kit are some of the flowers and the no-hole pearls, and I still have loads of stuff left for more projects.

A closer look at the divine lace and organza trim.  Just exquisite!

The white and silver berries were a perfect match (links at the end of the post)

bev-rochester-noor-christmas-bauble-aug-16

I made the flowers uisng flock paper and added a layer of glittered paper petals for a bit of extra bling.  I also die cut some glittered leaves.

bev-rochester-noor-christmas-bauble-aug-16-4

And what could make an easy card even easier than the gorgeous Scrapiniec chipboard shapes?  I painted the bauble with white paint and glittered the top layer before adhering them together.

For my best friend

Morning!  Here’s a quick card I made using the delectable Maja Summertime papers.  These are seriously fabulous!  I decided to utilise the bicycle picture and built the flowers up around the bicycle …. trying not to cover it up too much.

bev-rochester-maja-summertime-blue

The ruffled flower in the centre of the arrangement is handmade – I used some of the Maja paper.  It’s so thick and robust and stands up really well to manhandling the wet petals.  The pointy leaves at either end of the arrangement are Scrapiniec chipboards (all links at end of post).  As always, I gave the chippies a coat of white paint, I prefer the white to the creamy look they come in.  The glitter leaves are actually from a Christmas garland that I decided to chop in to, loving the sparkle.

Tucked under the flowers is more chipboard – the stunning Mehendi Laces.  LOVE these.  The sentiment is also chipboard.

The Owl Charm just finished this off, complete with his blue peepers Winking smile

Birthday Beauty

I got a delivery of the new Maja Design Summertime papers from Noor Design this week and had to have a play

bev-rochester-whimsy-birthday-beauty

The sentiment is a rub-on, which I’ve popped onto the cutest little tags from the Magnolia Club kit 10.  The tiny white flowers are die cut with a die from that kit too.  I added a charm to the tag, those are now also being stocked at Noor (links for all products used at the end of the post).

Now then, I am a leaf die junkie – I have hundreds of them and the leaves and white spray used on this card are from the new 0584 Christmas set that’s just been released.  I can’t WAIT to get busy with the poinsettia dies.

bev-rochester-whimsy-birthday-beauty2

The lace is gathered  so gives a floaty look to the card.

Bluebell Fun

Morning!  I’ve a sweet and shabby card to share today.

bev-rochester-dis-digis-bluebell-fun1

I coloured this up with distress inks – Hickory Smoke and Tattered Rose for the mice, Tumbled Glass and Hickory Smoke for the bluebells and Peeled Paint for the green.

bev-rochester-dis-digis-bluebell-fun3

I flattened the gorgeous tulle trim with my mini straighteners, they are marvellous for “ironing” lace, ribbon, etc. The mini straighteners don’t get as hot as my GSD’s which, I’m sure, would totally melt the tulle.  So if you try this, test it out on a small piece first, your straighteners may get a lot hotter than mine.

bev-rochester-dis-digis-bluebell-fun2

I spritzed the white roses with Lindy's Stamp Gang mists to get the different tones to match the image and papers.

Wee Springtime

Morning all, today’s card is a lot more cheerful than the wretched weather we’re having here on the North East coast.  I’ve teamed up a Wee stamp with some delicious Lemoncraft papers.

bev-rochester-whimsy-wee-springtime-a-1

I used the following inks to colour up the image
Pumice Stone - bunny
Spun Sugar and Aged Mahogany (mixed) - flowers
Weathered Wood and Tumbled Glass (mixed) – bird
Antique Linen - basket
Espresso - branch.

bev-rochester-whimsy-wee-springtime-a-4

The cute little dragonfly is from the Magnolia Club kit 10, I think there may be one or two still available at Noor Design.

Wee Daphne

Morning all!  At the time of scheduling this post it was cold, wet and dismal in the UK, so I decided to cheer myself up with a bright and summery card.

bev-rochester-whimsy-wee-daphne

The frondy type leaves are from the Noor oval frame die, and the twigs are from the Volume 10 Magnolia Club kit.

Wee Cindy

Morning all, today’s card features a Wee cutie, which I have teamed up with the gorgeous new Pion Scent of Lavender papers and some of the delish goodies now in stock at Noor Design.

bev-rochester-whimsy-wee-cindy

The stunning lace butterfly just fitted perfect for this card, so pretty and quite dimensional too.

bev-rochester-whimsy-wee-cindy2

The tiny bit of scalloped border peeking out is from the Magnolia Club Kit Volume 9.  That’s all sold out now but I believe there is a one or two Volume 10’s still up for grabs.  These are amazing value for money, when I saw what I got for my money it about blew my mind.

bev-rochester-whimsy-wee-cindy5

The large shabby/frilly flowers I made using the new Flowers of Joy dies (links below).  I followed Norma’s tutorial which is fantastic and easy to follow too and works perfect every time.

bev-rochester-whimsy-wee-cindy4

I finished this off with the stunning lace and pretty corner die cut.

My Father

My Mister Tom papers by Pion arrived this week, and they are just brilliant for those tricky male cards.  This one about made itself it was so simlpe to do!

bev-rochester-pion-mr-tom1

I used the stunning new Joy Craft Big Fence and Background die to add an extra layer.  I did this in dark brown, and it really helps to lift the upper layers.  A clock charm, some ribbon and a key along with a stamped image and one male card done. Smile
