Candibean Honey Pot

I had a tinker with the distress inks last week, I really am rusty with them and find grabbing my copic markers so much quicker and easier to colour with.  But, I’m persevering, and gave colouring this adorable little Candibean Honey Pot by LDRS a go.

The pen nib started off it’s life a vintage gold but I needed it to be silver to match the pearl string that I had used, so out came the Krylon pen and voila!  One silver nib

Love this pearl string, so pretty

Strawberry Fields

Morning!  I’ve another of those darling Candibean stamps on my card today.  I had another play with my Distress Inks, what a pleasure to colour with them now that I’m using that Fabriano paper I was praising a couple of weeks back.  It simply is the bizz!

The inks I used to colour this sweet image are:
Mice – Hickory Smoke, Tattered Rose
Flowers: Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry
Leaves: Shabby Shutters, Forest Moss
Strawberries: I mixed Candied Apple and Aged Mahogany together then once dry I applied a wash of black to the shadows

A close up of the berries and flowers, aren't those red poppies just so pretty?  I went with olive green jute to carry through the colour of the paper

Another new die – that Tim Holtz doily is so gorgeous and cuts  like a dream too.

Sweet Sugar Cube

I got a delivery of THE BEST watercolour paper ever and had to dig my distress inks out to have a play and the verdict?  It’s beyond the best, it really is.  See, I’m not a watercolourer.  I’m way too heavy handed and end up having to try and lift off some of the colour and then I get pilling or staining.  Then I get in a hissy fit and it goes in the bin.  Not any more, I’m so darn stoked (small things amuse small minds lol).  Link to the paper and all the other Noor products are in the linky pics at the end of the post.

I used the following re-inkers:-
Iced Spruce for the shading around the mice, Black Soot for the mice, Tumbled Glass for the tea cup & saucer, Vintage Photo for the Tea.

I went a bit cray-cray with the gesso Smile

And the inside, finished off to match the front
