Hello everyone how are you all?
Well I'm here with my DT post & this week I've not made a card but instead spent quite a bit of time on something for myself. This is going on the wall of my craft room.......once its finished that is lol.
I brought these a bit ago from Tracy, they are not in stock at the minute but message her & she will be only too happy to help. I do have another on the go which is for my daughter but for now lets show you mine ;-)
I painted this all with white gesso first then added crackle paste here & there once the paint was dry.........then started to decorate.

Please excuse the photo's, will try upload some more later when I've taken better ones!!
I have altered a Dutch Doobadoo shadow box.....the theme of this came from Maja Design's August Mood Board below........ Summertime to me means family holidays & all the family going away in our caravans.....maybe I should have put 2 on there? Of course to decorate this shadow box I used the Summertime Collection by Maja Design, my absolute favourite, ok I lurve them ALL, but Summertime is my absolute fave....every page just makes me happy.
Ok so for the whole of the background I used a sheet of 'Is Always The Best 12x12' & I also used a 2nd sheet & I fussy cut the flowers from the top corner & glued them to the corner of the shadow box....if you look you can see the exact same flowers underneath on the base. I also fussy cut out the wording 'Summertime'.In the next square I added a resin frame & placed a photo of my grand-daughter in there....these photo's on here were all taken at times when we have been away on holiday during the summer.
I fussy cut another corner of flowers, this one came from the bottom left corner but I turned it & added it here. I also fussy cut the sweet little girl with her skipping rop & I fussy cut the Gazebo & added a tag behind from the 'In The Garden Die-Cuts' 12x12 sheet.
Added some Strawberries in there......summer just isn't summer without strawberries & I sit & share them with my grand-daughter as they are her favourite fruit :-)
There is also a Teapot at the top of the tag.........just like there is one on the mood board. I usually make everyone a cuppa as soon as we get there while we are setting up awnings.
I made a Heart out of resin a long time ago & used a stamp with a postmark on it while the clay was wet........I'm not sure what stamp I used, sorry.
The heart frame below that has a photo of my grandson in it. At the bottom I die-cut some leaves from sheet 'Greenery' 12x12 & fussy cut another sweet girl with a skipping rope. Underneath there is also the same little girl......I cut the top one form the 2nd sheet.
I fussy cut the bike..I love this bike with its flowers in the basket. I added a bike here with another frame with my daughter in.....now the bike represents wheels & as my daughter is in a wheelchair I had to add wheels in here somewhere.....a bike was the closest thing.
I've also added a die-cut of a bike & behind added a postage stamp form the Die-Cuts sheet.
I also added a resin rose to the bottom which I added fran-tage to.
The last photo is of the centre & here i made a little scene which consists of a lamp-post, some mushrooms = cooked breakfast every morning lol. The mushrooms are from Magnolia Doo-Hickey club set Volume 9. The aweosme caravan there.....I lurve this die, this is from Doo-Hickey Club set Volume 11. The wheel I used a scrap piece of Maja Design for the dark shade.
I added trees which were also from Volume 9 & I fussy cut a sweet boy out form the Die-Cuts sheet......yeah I know hes bigger than the trees & caravan.......he's just really tall ;-)
At the top I added more leaves & hand made flowers..... the ones on the right I used a Joy Crafts die & used just the 2 smaller dies & then added small Gypsophila flowers to the centre. The tiny flowers ont he left are from a Doo-Hickey club set. The butterfly I made with clay a long time ago & I then added fran-tage.
All of the paper elements, die-cuts & fussy cutting I covered with a decoupage sealant to protect it all when its hanging on my wall..........after all I want it to last a long long time ;-)
