Steps card

Hello all,

As we got so many requests in the Kit & Clowder Facebook group about our steps cards we will now put it here on our blog in English too. This is the card I have made with the pattern.

Let me try to explain to you how this card is made. Forgive me my bad english!!
If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Cut a piece of cardstock 16 x 30 cm.  With the length of the cardstock facing you, as shown in the picture, make a scoreline at 11 cm in from the left.

Along the scoreline, meeasure and mark with a pencil at 4, 8 and 12cm.  Draw a vertical line.  So you will end up with 4 lines at 4cm intervals drawn across the right hand side of the card.

On line 1 score at 4cm and again at 8cm.  This will create a box.

On line 2 score at 6cm and again at 10cm.

On line 3 score at 8cm and again at 12cm.

10cm and again at 14cm.

Cut along the horizontal lines from the first score until the 2nd scoreline of the square box below it. Repeat on all lines.

Fold the base of your card together and eraser the lines.

Cut from a colour of your choice cardstock 2 pieces of 15.5 x 10.5 cm and of your design paper 2 pieces of  15 x 10 cm and clue this on to the left and front of your card base.

Cut from your other cardstock a piece of 15.5 x 9.5 cm.

Mark with pencil down the length at 4cm  8cm and 12 cm.  I usually do this on both sides and then use a ruler to draw a vertical line across so it is striaght.

With your cardstock now facing you with the lines horizontally (width of the cardstock), mark the top line at 3.5cm in from the left, 2nd line at 5.5cm in from the left and the 3rd line at 7.5cm in from the left. Now draw verical lines at these points.  This will create the stair step.  Cut off remaining sections.

With design paper measuring 15 x 9cm mark with pencil down the length at 4cm,  8cm and 12 cm.  I usually do this on both sides and then use a ruler to draw a vertical line across so it is striaght.

With your paper now facing you with the lines horizontally (width of the cardstock).  This time mark the top line at 3cm in from the left, 2nd line at 7cm in from the left and the 3rd line at 9cm in from the left. Now draw verical lines at these points.   Cut off remaining sections not required. Stick to your base.

Cut your 2nd color cardstock a piece of 15,5 x 10,5 cm and now measure from the bottom and place horizontal lines at 4, 8 and 12 cm. Vertical lines at 4.5 - 6.5 and 8.5 cm, this also measured from the bottom and measured from the right! Cut  away accordance with this pattern.

Cut a piece of design paper 10 x 15 and put pencil lines from the bottom measured at 4-8 and 12 cm.and vertical lines on 4, 6 and 8 cm from the right. Cut away remaining sections not required.

Cut 4 pieces of your 2nd color cardstock 3.5 x 3.5 cm, and add your text. I chose X MAS and glued it to the base. Decorate your card.
